Chocolate Greek Yogurt Dip on

This chocolate greek yogurt dip is absolutely the perfect thing to tide you over when you’re craving sweets, but you’re not ready to take a face-first plunge into a pan of brownies. If you love greek yogurt as much as I do, you’ll probably appreciate this “dip”/yogurt, which takes regular plain greek yogurt and turns it into a pretty healthy treat. Maple syrup really curbs the tang of the plain yogurt and turns it into a mild, sweet dip and the cocoa powder gives it a chocolatey depth.

There are plenty of variations I’m sure would be awesome: mixing some shredded coconut in, or some toasted walnuts (yum), crushed up Oreos to lessen the healthy factor and up the delicious factor…

I love dipping fruits and graham grackers into it, but really I like it best just eaten on it’s own, like a semi healthy chocolate pudding.

Chocolate Greek Yogurt Dip
from Edible Perspective

1 cup plain, unsweetened greek yogurt
2-4 T. unsweetened cocoa powder (depending on how dark-chocolatey you want it)
1 T. maple syrup
1/4 t. vanilla extract
3 T. dark chocolate chips

Mix ingredients together until there are no lumps from the cocoa powder and add more maple syrup if desired. Top with chocolate chips and enjoy with fruit, pita chips, graham grackers, etc, or just eat on its own. Chill (covered) in the fridge.

  1. This looks soooo good! I get chocolate cravings like nobody’s business, and while I’m never not up for diving face-first into a pan of brownies, I can’t always wait for my fix long enough to bake one. Chocolate greek yogurt dip to the rescue! Thanks for posting. 🙂

  2. This looks freaking delicious and easy to make!!! And healthy 🙂 I can’t wait to go buy some greek yogurt and strawberries hehe, thank you for sharing this!!

    1. I use tablespoons (as does Ashley from Edible Perspective who made the recipe) but whatever floats your boat! If that’s too much intense cocoa powder for you feel free to use less 🙂

  3. Love, love, this idea for a healthy indulgent snack. The farmers markets just started in my region, so any new ideas for eating fresh fruit is a plus. I will be making this ASAP.

Just a quick question: how well does this last in the frig? I’m wondering if I could double the recipe and keep it handy in the frig for a quick snack attack.

    1. Thanks! It is a great treat and still healthy. I’ve only ever made it right before eating it, but I imagine it would keep well in the fridge for at least a couple days – can’t say for sure though because I haven’t tried it. Maybe I should now!
